Sodium Metabisulfite, also known as Sodium Disulfite, Sodium Pyrosulfite, Sodium Metabisulphite or Sodium Pyrosulphite, Disodium Disulfite, and Natrium Pyrosulfit, has the chemical formula Na2S2O5. It appears as white to yellowish crystals or powder with a slight sulfur odor. It is soluble in Water, Alcohol, and Glycerol at ambient conditions. Purified Grade, also known as Pure or Practical Grade, refers to those high-purity compounds that do not fulfill the ACS, the USP, or the FCC grade requirements. They are mostly used in conjunction with Lab Grade chemicals.
