Propylene glycol, also known as 1,2-propanediol, is a odorless, tasteless, colorless, viscous liquid at room temperature. It is often added to water for lowering its freezing point. The optimal Propylene Glycol to DI Water concentration is 60/40 and the resultant solution has a considerably lower freezing point (-48 o C) than the pure ethylene glycol or water. Â
