EDTA is a weak acid that is an Aminocarboxylic Acid. It is produced by reacting a basic solution of Ethylenediamine with Sodium and Formaldehyde. It is a water-soluble crystal, used as a source of the chelating agent. EDTA binds strongly to metal ions to form stable, water-soluble compounds, a key function that lends this compound to widespread applications.Tetrasodium EDTA is a preservative for fragrances, chelating agent in skincare products and is used in cosmetics. Tetrasodium EDTA is used to aid in formulation of a removal product for rust, corrosion, and scale from ferrous metal, copper, brass, and other surfaces.  Chemicals in the Reagent Grade category have high purity and are best suited for analytical purposes. Â
