It appears as odorless white to dirty gray hygroscopic granules or crystalline powder and is soluble in Water at ambient conditions. It possesses a saline pungent taste. When heated to decomposition it emits very toxic fumes of Nitrogen Oxides and Dipotassium Oxide.
