Potassium Hydroxide, sometimes known as lye, is an inorganic substance with the chemical formula KOH. It is also known as Caustic Potash, and is a strong base that comes in pellets, flakes, and powders. In chemical, industrial, and manufacturing processes, it has a wide range of applications. Potassium hydroxide may be used to make a variety of potassium compounds. Lab Grade chemicals are also known as Chemically Pure or Laboratory Reagents. Despite their acceptable purity, Lab Grade chemicals do not comply with any quality or purity criteria, such as the ACS Grade, the USP Grade, or the FCC Grade. In terms of heavy metals, Lab Grade products are exceptionally pure.Â
