About NF grade chemicals
NF grade chemicals are among the highest purity chemical reagents. These chemicals meet the internationally-recognized standards of purity set by the National Formulary. NF grade reagents have comparable purity to USP grade and ACS grade reagents.
NF grade chemicals are often marked as NF-USP grade. This is because the National Formulary and the United States Pharmacopeia, previously separate organizations, are now merged. There is an on-going effort to combine the purity standards under a single monogram. Eventually, NF grade will be phased out to be replaced with USP grade. Together, the USP-NF encompasses more than 5000 quality standards for medicines, active ingredients, and excipients.
