Mercuric Chloride, also known as Dichloromercury, Sublimate, Mercury Bichloride, and Mercury Perchloride has the chemical formula HgCl2. It appears as an odorless, white crystalline powder. It is soluble in Water and Methanol at ambient conditions. Lab Alley’s Mercuric Chloride, Powder is >99% pure and is prepared by oxidizing Mercury with Chlorine at temperature >300 °C. The escaping sublimate vapor is condensed in cooled receivers, where it is settled as fine crystals. The ACS Grade is generally equivalent to the reagent grade and is acceptable for use in analytical applications and research laboratories. Due to its high purity Mercuric Chloride, Powder, ACS Reagent Grade is highly recommended for labs and commercial applications.
