Magnesium Nitrate, also known as Magnesium Dinitrate Hexahydrate, Nitric Acid Magnesium Salt Hexahydrate, and Magniosan, is often available as hexahydrate of Magnesium(2+) Nitrate having the chemical formula H12MgN2O12 or Mg(NO3)2-6H2O. It appears as white, odorless hygroscopic crystals or powder and is very soluble in water, alcohol at ambient conditions. Its thermal treatment does not lead to dehydration but decomposition producing Magnesium Oxide, Nitrogen Oxide and Oxygen.
