Hydrochloric Acid, also known as Muriatic acid, Chlorohydric acid, and Acide Chlorhydrique, has the chemical formula HCl. It is formed by dissolving Hydrogen Chloride gas in Water and appears as a colorless to yellowish watery liquid with a sharp, irritating odor. It is soluble in Water and Ethanol at ambient conditions. Lab Alley’s Hydrochloric Acid, 15% Solution, A.R./Technical Grade contains 15% by weight of pure Hydrogen Chloride gas dissolved in >85% by weight of purified Water.
Unless a high purity grade (>90%) is needed, Technical Grade chemicals are of sufficient quality for industrial applications. Technical Grade chemicals are mainly utilized in large-scale commercial manufacturing where impurity levels do not need to be tracked or managed. Due to its high purity Hydrochloric Acid, 15% Solution, A.R./Technical Grade is highly recommended for labs and commercial applications.
