an inorganic sulfate salt and a naturally hygroscopic compound having the chemical formula
(NH4)2SO4. It contains 21% nitrogen along with 24% Sulfur, which makes it a suitable fertilizer
for alkaline soils. At room temperature, it appears as a colorless solid having high solubility in
water. The US Food and Drug Administration (FDA) has declared Ammonium Sulfate as a
Generally Recognized As Safe (GRAS) chemical that is suitable as a food additive, and used as an
acidity regulator in flours/bread. Chemically pure or Laboratory reagents are two terms used to
